It has an effect on services and systems across the Omaha-Council Bluffs metropolitan area. Raising awareness about the issues faced by those in need is key, and it’s important to look in-depth at what causes these disparities in our community. Together, we will examine the causes, and identify action steps we can embrace - individually and as a community.

    A victim of trauma – due to violence, neglect, disaster or loss – can be forever changed, especially if that trauma is never addressed. It affects a person’s life, and the lives of those around them. It can spread across generations of families and impact critical systems, including criminal justice, health care and schools. For that reason, it’s important for public, nonprofit and private services to take trauma into account as they serve our vulnerable neighbors – and our community.
