Greg Vassios is SVP, Corporate and Donor Relations of United Way of the Midlands (UWM.) He joined UWM in July 2017, and oversees the organization’s corporate engagement, foundation giving, major and individual gifts and affinity groups.
Prior to joining UWM, Greg spent 30 years in corporate leadership roles around sales and service, focused in the financial services and technology sectors. His success in building strong teams and developing client-centric relationships has resulted in a year over year growth and a solid foundation for future business opportunity and development. His tenure at TierPoint, Verizon Business and First Data has afforded him the opportunity to build depth of knowledge in process improvement, metric-based sales and service practices modeling as well as fully functional self-directed work groups.
At UWM, Greg’s work focuses on working closely with the Donor Community to facilitate communication around UWM’s strategy to generate revenue. Under his leadership, the team is responsible for growing resources while building and nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and donors at all giving levels in our community to reduce poverty in the Omaha-Council Bluffs metro.
A native of Colorado, Greg received a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts from the University of Nebraska-Omaha with subsequent business leadership training through FD Institute, American Bankcard and American Management Associations as well as Harvard-based Negotiation and Tactical Strategy programs.
