Jill Samuelson is Senior Vice President of Marketing and Communications of United Way of the Midlands (UWM.) She joined UWM as Senior Vice President, Marketing and Communications in November 2016, and is charged with creating smart, progressive marketing strategies and differentiated communication efforts to further enhance the recognition of UWM’s brand and to share the organization’s community impact work among key stakeholders and the diverse community being served.
Prior to joining UWM, Jill spent 20 years gaining advertising and marketing experience working with for-profit and not-for-profit companies. After graduating from college she moved to New York and worked for one of the world’s leading ad agencies, McCann Erickson New York. She managed accounts like Sprint, Black & Decker, Smith Barney and Buick. Then moved back to Omaha where she spent some time at Ervin & Smith and Bozell. Majority of her time was running a small branding agency where she was a minority owner. During her tenure, she was responsible for strategic planning, account management, the overall success of client relationships, company profitability, company operations and staff.
At UWM, under Jill’s leadership, the team is committed to raising awareness and engagement year-round through consistent messaging, campaigns and events focused on UWM’s work of improving lives for everyone, strengthening our community and helping people out of poverty through our network of support.
Jill received a Bachelor of Science from University of Nebraska-Omaha where she majored in journalism and minored in marketing.
She grew up in Harlan, IA. Lived in Brooklyn for two years. Currently resides in Bennington with her husband, Craig, and their three children: Henry, Audrey and Ainsley.
