Laura Tatten joined United Way of the Midlands in November, 2019 as the Chief Giving Officer. In June, 2020, she took on the role of Interim Senior Vice President of Donor Engagement and moved into the role in January of 2021. Laura leads the Donor Engagement team in its role as the manager of corporate and donor relationships. The team manages the annual UWM fundraising drives and other donor partnerships that result in funding provided to more than 100 programs helping the Omaha-Council Bluffs area.
Prior to joining UWM, Laura served as the Senior Vice President of Marketing and Communications for Boys Town for eleven years. As part of the Executive Team, she was responsible for strategic marketing, communications, planning, brand and reputation management. She designed a team and implemented plans to grow national and regional awareness for Boys Town. She also managed traditional and digital fundraising that delivered increasing net value to the organization every year.
Prior to joining Boys Town, Laura worked in Marketing and Communications in senior roles within First Data for fourteen years. She was responsible for promoting the financial services division within the industry. Prior to that, Laura held marketing roles within local and national banks in Omaha and Des Moines.
Laura earned her degree in Organizational Communications and English from Creighton University and is a Kellogg School of Management Executive Scholar. She grew up in Council Bluffs, IA and now lives in Omaha with her husband Bob.
