COMMUNITY STORIES

Let’s create lasting change, together.

At United Way of the Midlands, we are proud to help fund local nonprofit programs that are changing the lives of our neighbors in need and building a brighter future for our community. We want to extend a huge thank you to our donors who help make the below success stories possible for families in the metro.

YOU are the heart of United Way.

Hear from the very people whose lives you touched with your donation to United Way of the Midlands. Thank you for supporting local families and making our community stronger!

Omaha-Council Bluffs locals Anna, Dominique and Justin’s lives are forever changed with our donors’ support.

Danielle’s life was turned upside down in the 2019 floods, but our donors ensured her family had what they needed.

Patrick and Austin found hope and are working towards their goals with help from our Opportunity Youth Initiative.

Local students share how Raise Me to Read helps them achieve 3rd-grade reading proficiency and get to school every day.

When you give to United Way of the Midlands (UWM), you help more than 100 local nonprofit programs provide Basic Needs, Education and Financial Stability supports.

By giving to programs that provide basic needs, education and financial stability support, you help form a Circle of Support around our neighbors in need so they can address multiple problems at once and regain stability during difficult times.

Below, meet Cass, Luis and Jabin who received each of these types of support and found success.

Meet Cass

She overcame addiction, homelessness and domestic violence with our donors’ support.

Meet Luis

He learned how to cope with trauma and is thriving in preschool with our donors’ support.

Meet Jabin

A young entrepreneur, he will be the first college graduate in his family with our donors’ support.
